Tips for Satin Stitch Appliqué! Use a Satin Stitch Foot so dense stitches can pass smoothly underneath. Use tear-away stabilizer underneath fabric to prevent fabric from puckering. Set appliqué in place with fusible web. Select zigzag stitch; width of the stitch depends on the look you like for the appliqué, and length should be decreased so that little to no fabric shows between the stitches.
