Googleは12月19日（現地時間）、検索結果に表示される他者の著作物を保護するセキュリティ対策を回避し、無断でスクレイピングを行ったとしてSerpApiに対する訴訟を提起した。 Googleによれば、SerpApiは大量のボットや偽名のクローラーを用いて同社のセキュリティを迂回し、ライセンスされた画像やリアルタイムデータなどを無断で取得後、第三者に有償で提供したという。
