米Microsoftは9月19日（現地時間）、リモートデスクトップ接続アプリ「Windows App」をmacOS向けに、「Windows App Mobile」をiOS、iPadOS、visionOS向けに一般公開した。これまで「Microsoft リモート デスクトップ」（Microsoft Remote Desktop）と呼ばれていたアプリの後継だ。

なお、他のプラットフォームのリモートデスクトップ接続アプリは「Windows App」に統合されたが、Android版 「Remote Desktop」アプリ はまだ利用可能。とはいえ、パブリックプレビューの終了後は「Windows App」へリプレイスされると見られており、早期に評価しておくのが望ましいだろう。
